Puello was signed as an amateur free agent by the New York Mets in 2007. He made his MLB debut On August 9, 2017 playing outfield with the Los Angeles Angels. Ten days later, the Angeles waived Puello but he was claimed by the Tampa Bay Rays. He played the reminder of the season with the Rays. Puello was released by the Rays at the end of the 2017 season. In 2018, he played at the AAA level for both the Arizona Diamondbacks and San Francisco Giants. In 2019, he played in the AAA level for both the Miami Marlins and the Los Angeles Angels again appearing at the MLB level for 32 games for the Marlins and 12 games for the Angeles. He finished the rest of his career in AAA playing for different organizations till 2021. Puello finished his career playing in the Mexican League and Dominican Winter League from 2022-2023.
