Autograph #247 – Today we received a response to our Autograph request #87 – Kevin Tapani. We received an autographed 8X10″ photograph from Mr. Tapani. It took 79 days to receive his response. We sent our request to 781 Ferndale Road N, Wayzata, MN 55391. Thanks Mr. Tapani!!
Tapani was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 2nd round of the 1986 MLB June Amateur Draft from Central Michigan University. In 1987, he was traded as part of a 3-team trade by the Oakland Athletics, New York Mets, and Los Angeles Dodgers. He made his pitching debut for the Mets on July 4, 1989 against the Houston Astros. Tapani was traded later that season by the Mets to the Minnesota Twins. He pitched for the Twins to 1995 when he was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was granted free agency at the end of 1995 and signed with the Chicago White Sox in 1996. Tapani was granted free agency at the end of 1996 and signed with the Chicago Cubs in 1997. He pitched with the Cubs till 2001. Tapani played his last game on September 27, 2001. His career record: 143 wins, 125 losses, and an ERA of 4.35.
