Basso was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 16th round of the 2019 MLB June Amateur Draft from Oklahoma State University. He made his MLB debut on May 31, 2024 vs the Atlanta Braves. He pitched in 7 games in 2024. He played in 11 games for the A’s in 2025.
