Autograph #286 – This is an autographed 6X8″ photograph of former MLB infielder Pete Castiglione with the Pittsburgh Pirates. We don’t know when we mailed our request or received his response. Since he passed away in 2010, obviously it was before then.

Castiglione was signed as an amateur free agent by the Pirates in 1940. He played in the Pirates minor league system from 1940-1942. He joined the Navy and served in World War II. After the war, he returned to the Pirates in 1946. Castiglione made his MLB debut on September 10, 1947 against the New York Giants. He played for the Pirates till June 14, 1953 when he was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals. He played for the Cardinals till 1954. From 1955 to 1958 in the minors for the Kansas City Athletics and New York Yankees before he retired.
