Towers was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 15th round of the 1996 MLB June Amateur Draft from Oxnard College. He made his MLB debut on May 2, 2001 against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. He pitched for the Orioles till 2002 when he was granted free agency. He signed with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2003 and pitched with them till 2007 when he was released. He played in the minors in the Washington Nationals system in 2008, and then signed with the New York Yankees. He pitched in 2 games for the Yankees in 2009. 2010 he played in the Los Angeles Dodgers minors, 2011 in the Mexican League and finished his career playing with the Camden Riversharks in 2012. His MLB career consisted of playing in 138 games with a records of 45-55 striking out 389 batters.
