Autograph #350 – This is an autographed 8X10″ photograph from the late New Orleans Saints placekicker Tom Dempsey. I do not have a record of when I mailed off for his autograph or received it.

Dempsey was signed as a free agent. He attended college at Palomar College in San Diego, CA. Dempsey held the record for the longest field goal, 63 yards, for over 40 years. Myself and a bunch and friend any my cousin, Gordon Rivet, had season tickets in the end zone that year. Many in our bunch had left with about 5 minutes left for that famous game against Detroit. Gordon, myself and another school friend stayed to the very end and witness his game breaking kick. Dempsey played for the Saints from 1969-1970, Philadelphia Eagles from 1971-1974, Los Angeles Rams 1975-1976, Houston Oilers 1977, and the Buffalo Bills from 1978-1979. In 2013, it was revealed that he had dementia. He eventually was placed in a home where he caught COVID-19 and died in 2020.
