Autograph #373 – This is an autograph we received from former MLB catcher Steve Decker on his 1991 Donruss trading card. We do not have a record of when we sent or received his response.
Decker was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 21st round of the 1988 MLB June Amateur Draft from Lewis-Clark State College. He made his MLB debut on September 18, 1990 vs the Cincinnati Red. He played for the Giants till 1992. He was then drafted by the Florida Marlins from the San Francisco Giants as the 35th pick in the 1992 expansion draft. He played for the Marlins in 1993 but spent 1994 in their minor league system. He made it to the Marlins in 1995 and was granted free agency after the 1995 season. He signed again with the Giants in 1996 and then in August 1996 was purchased by the Colorado Rockies. He was released by the Rockies at the end of the 1996 season and signed with the Seattle Mariners for 1997. He spent from 1997 to 2000 in the minors playing in the Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Mets, Anaheim Angels and Oakland A’s organizations. He did get called up by the Angels and played in 28 games during the 1999 season.
