Autograph #399 – Well it took a while but yesterday we received a response to our Autograph Request #71 – Kurt Rambis. Rambis is a senior executive with the Lakers. It took 333 days to receive his response but him in first place for the longest successful response to one of our autograph request through the mail. He sent us an autographed 8X10″ photograph of him playing for the Lakers. We sent our request to Kurt Rambis c/o Los Angeles Lakers, 555 N. Nash St., El Segundo, CA 90245. Thank you Mr. Rambis.

Rambis was drafted by the New York Knicks in the 3rd round (12th pick, 58th overall) of the 1980 NBA Draft out of Santa Clara University. He did not play with anyone in the NBA the 1980-81 season. He signed as a free agent with the Los Angeles Lakers for the 1981-1982 season. He played with the Lakers till 1988 when he signed as a free agent with the Charlotte Hornets. In December 1989, he was traded by the Hornets to the Phoenix Suns. He was waived by the Suns in November 1992 and signed with the Sacramento Kings 8 days later. He signed with the Lakers on October 1, 1993 and played with them till 1995. After his playing career, he went into coaching. He coached with the Lakers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Knicks.
