Delgado was signed as an amateur free agent in October 1988 by the Toronto Blue Jays. He made his MLB debut on October 1, 1993 vs the Baltimore Orioles. He played First base for the Blue Jays till 2004. He signed with the Florida Marlins in 2005 playing with them till the end of that season when he was traded to the New York Mets. He played with the Mets till the end of 2009. He signed with the Boston Red Sox in 2010 and finished his career. Delgado earned 3 Silver Slugger awards.
